/ July 13, 2010“In terms of being a better all-around player, I think the best rookie in this class is Stephen Curry. I remember watching tape of him and I was blown away by how flawlessly he plays the game on both ends. His offensive game just comes so easily to him. It kind of reminds you of a steve nash type of player” -Stan Van Gundy

/ July 13, 2010outside shooting-curry
inside-evans,by a little
ballhandling-evans
rebounding-curry, because evans is on a rebounding team and has teammates that actually box out
team leadership-pretty even, curry makes his teammates better and evans can carry a team on his back
defense-no question, curry is better at on-the-ball defender, though evans has longer arms, he is not as developed at this as curry
upside-evans, but i’m unsure because curry tends to surprise
passing/playmaking-curry

/ July 13, 2010Lol, Curry has been at #2 since january, i don’t know what you’re talking about, and it’s hilarious that people favor evans for one reason-curry is in nelson’s run and gun system, meaning he would have more shot attempts, right? Wrong, evans in a rebounding system takes an average of 4 shots per game more than Curry. That’s a maximum of eight points more, so if he shoots 50%, he’ be averaging 18ppg right now.

/ July 13, 2010Its Evans award to lose. Curry only recently started playing consistently. Evans has been doing it the whole year. When Evans wins i want you to slap yourself.
atlnigga03
/ July 13, 2010that bullshit. all evans has is his scorein. any unbiased person would actually look for other things than just how well a person scores.
atlnigga03
/ July 13, 2010right now evans is not the favorite, stephen curry is. he is the only one who’s scorin isnt up and down every night.
1984chupacabra
/ July 13, 2010I dont mention anyone else because were talking about who the favorite is to win ROY. The answer is Evans. So i talk about Evans. The difference between this one game for Evans and anybody elses impressive one game is that Evans received an actual award for this game. That gets put on his resume for the ROY award. There are other good rookies, no doubt. The best of the rookies is definitely Evans. It cant even be argued at this point.
atlnigga03
/ July 13, 2010hold up. ” that’s just one game” lets see him get mvp forreal since he’s so much better than every rookie. lets not count anything the other rookies did at all cause tyreke is better than everybody in the league. he should be playin better competition like kobe or lebron. i keep hearin u mention evans rebounds but i aint heard u say shit about jennings averagein 3.5 rebounds, thats really good for someone a whole 5 inches shorter than evans.
1984chupacabra
/ July 13, 2010We can also now add the rookie-sophmore game mvp award to the 2 western conference rookie of the month awards that hes already won. Thats an impressive list of awards. Then you see that he gets 20/5/5. Clearcut favrorite to win ROY.
1984chupacabra
/ July 13, 2010Hes not just getting 20 points per game. Hes getting 5 rebounds per game. Hes also getting 5 assists per game. Its been mentioned quite a few times what company those stats put Evans in so I wont mention it. Curry barely broke into the top 3 in rookie power rankings 2 weeks ago. Evans has been #1 all year other than the initial burst Jennings had. Since then its been 100% Evans. Any unbiased and FAIRLY INTELLIGENT person would agree its Evans. They might as well give him ROY right now.
atlnigga03
/ July 13, 2010tell me just how far tyreke evans is. just cause he’s averaging 20 ppg doesnt mean anything and even that has dropped like 4 tenths in his last couple of games. anyone with an unbiased opinion would know that neither curry nor jennings is far behind evans. right now neither of them are behind him at all.
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010Jennings is the only of the three in the playoffs anyway
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010oh yeah, and Jason Kidd, Michael Jordan,
Jerry West, and Elgin Baylor only had “one game”
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010Curry has been averaging 20.8ppg, 8.6rpg and 8.8apg this month.
And btw, its the one game that stupid asshole Don Nelson gave Curry touches because Monta Ellis and Cory Magette were out with injuries. He shut down baron davis (1/12 fg). And they blew out the clippers with a vet point guard, baron davis, and all-star Kaman. They had 7 players, 2 d-leaguers, one sophomore, and two 5-year big men. I’d love to see Tyreke do that with2 d-leaguers, without martin, thompson, nocioni, or udrih.
1984chupacabra
/ July 13, 2010One performance does not a great player make. Calm down. Curry is nowhere near ROY because of how far ahead Evans is. Any person with an unbiased point of view would agree. You may stop posting now.
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010evans is 20? and curry is just the 6th rookie in NBA history to get 35/10/10 in a game. the others: Jerry West, Jason Kidd(2OT),Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, and Michael Jordan. Curry is dashing for ROY. I don’t see how hes “he’s nowhere near” ROY contention
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010and tyreke is 20?? wtf?
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010thats right bitch i didnt think you had a way out so shutup and suck my dick!!!
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010@1984chupacabra i find it pretty ironic that you even call me a moron and dont even acknowledge that curry is #2 behind evans when you said he is nowhere near him for ROY? i dont understand you people, “its one thing talking to someone misinformed. its another thing to reason with a moron” ?? youre not always right, so please dont try to push me off and call me a moron, that is just sad especially after you made a completely erratic comment saying curry is a bad defender, and hes #2 for ROY??
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010@1984chupacabra lmao, and curry isnt anywhere near ROY contention? you sir are an idiot, he doesnt have an upside bcause hes severely right handed, hes just strong enough to go right every time, and curry isnt trailing very far behind, as soon as evans hits the rookie wall curry has a solid shot at getting ROY
1984chupacabra
/ July 13, 2010A 19 year old rookie that averages 20/5/5 on the year doesnt have any upside?! Its one thing talking to someone who is misinformed. Its another thing trying to reason with a moron. You sir are a waste of my time.
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010@goldenstateketchup and i live on earth
goldenstateketchup
/ July 13, 2010@1984chupacabra and he averaged 5apg and 4rpg, my mistake
